The company plans to roll out a software update to streamline video conference experience between Lifesize meeting room systems and third-party video conferencing services.

Lifesize has notified the expansion of the Lifesize Icon series of teleconferencing and meeting room systems with third-party video conferencingOpens a new window services like Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco Webex, BlueJeans and Zoom. This cross-service integration will help users in connecting participants over Lifesize Icon irrespective of the service implementation between them.

This is the third major Lifesize update to its extensive product line of video conferencing solutions. Lifesize Icon series features plug-and-play equipment and delivers 4K video communication and collaborationOpens a new window across multiple platforms, thus enabling users to bring their own devices, if needed.

A spokesperson for Lifesize said that BYOD does not affect video or audio quality in a call, either on desktop or mobile devices. This is possible with Lifesize Icon’s support of standardized telecommunication protocols like SIP and H.323 for audio-visual sessions, not to mention its hardware equipment.

Tuesday’s update for Lifesize Icon brings a new-level of interoperability between video meeting services like Teams, Meet, Webex, Zoom and BlueJeans, which will allow seamless switching between these services as and when required for either internal or external communication. Users will no longer have to change devices or services when a need to connect with a stakeholder with any of the supported services arises. Just toggling between them will do the trick.
