The ranks of enterprise communications providers have swelled over the past eight months. The latest to join the bandwagon is CPaaS player Bandwidth which completed the acquisition of Brussels-based Voxbone to expand its cloud communications footprint.

In the cloud communications era, complementing your product portfolio with the best-of-breed communications platform can not only unlock additional revenue streams but also speed up the go-to-market strategy for customers. One of the leading communications platform-as-a-service (CPaaS) providers, Bandwidth, is broadening its technology base with a  $519.4 million acquisition of Voxbone, a Brussels-based communications platform and IP voice network provider.

Voxbone, the poster child for VoIP and SIP trunking knows what’s ahead for the future of the workplace. The firm’s solutions address underlying voice quality issues in real-time communications — a persistent issue that businesses of all sizes face amid the ongoing lockdowns.

As Matt BrownOpens a new window , VP Product at Voxbone puts it, “Particularly with the new WFH culture, it’s now even harder for businesses to assess voice quality as their workforce is spread and consuming voice from new locations and via new channels.”

“Cloud-native communications solutions bring multiple benefits to the table, including the ability to go global in the blink of an eye and slash operating costs in half. But they also bring new, different challenges,” Voxbone shared in a blogOpens a new window . A key issue that enterprises are contending within remote work environments is call quality. With cloud communications, voice can get choppy because of the quality of the provider’s network architecture and service delivery mechanisms. And Voxbone, which counts Zoom, Skype and Uber among its customers is well-primed to address this challenge.
