Barista To Act as a Single Automated Hub for HR-related Queries

The integration will use Espressive’s AI-based virtual support agent, Barista, to help employees by providing them access to information related to HR, such as timecard information, purchase order (PO) status, onboarding, paid time off (PTO) days, pay rate, and invoice in their natural language. Barista is also expected to update information in real-time across use cases, such as looking up employee data, managing PTO, and facilitating onboarding. The virtual agent is further expected to automate the resolution of almost 80% of the HR-related queries across a wide range of HR topics as well as employee workflows.

The integration of Barista with HR systems is expected to help employees utilize the virtual agent as a single automated center for their queries across the major HR tools. Among a few other benefits, some of them touted by Espressive include improved employee experience and increased use of HR tools by employees. Espressive further expects the integration to free up HR support members from answering repetitive queries and spending valuable time researching answers for various geographies, thus helping them focus on building better relationships with employees.

The Key Motivator Behind the Integration

HR teams regularly receive significant employee queries across various topics, from payroll to invoices. As organizations went remote due to the pandemic, there was an exponential growth in HR-related queries. Further, as remote work led to increased employees working from different geographical locations, answers often varied depending on their region, state, and country.

While HR teams across organizations have invested in technology to overcome these challenges, each HR system has its own interface, which could frustrate employees. The integration from Espressive intends to solve this challenge by providing a single place for all HR-related questions.

Talking about the integration, Pat Calhoun, founder and CEO, Espressive, said, “The advent of the hybrid workforce has inundated HR teams challenged with the dual responsibility of providing support for their on-site and remote employees while prioritizing the employee experience. Customers are looking for immediate ROI and want to avoid the complexity of building language recognition on a toolkit, such as those available from IBM Watson, ServiceNow, and Workday. The Barista virtual agent comes pre-equipped understanding the HR language of employees, while providing a single point for virtually any HR question.”

Espressive has also announced that integration with a few other leading HR systems will be available in the coming days.
