Google has announced the release of a set of AI-powered tools aimed to bolster the performance and applications of popular workspace apps such as Chat, Meet, Gmail, Docs, Slides, and more. These features are currently available for businesses and developers and will eventually be accessible to the general public.

These AI-based technologies are rapidly gaining widespread attention following the launch of ChatGPT by Open AI late last year.

Facilitating Generative AI Support for Businesses and Developers

Following rumors of Microsoft’s plans to combine ChatGPT capabilities with its Office productivity applications, Google is aiming to counter such developments by integrating generative AI tools into Google’s applications.

The company is also launching new APIs aimed at supporting developer operations. Businesses and developers involved in AI explorations will be able to use PaLM API based on Google’s optimized language models along with MakerSuite, a combination ideal for prototype development.

Google has also announced the introduction of a Generative AI application builder that will allow public and private organizations to develop AI-based digital assistants and chat interfaces. All features will be rolled out to testers initially before giving access to the public.
