For its clients in warehousing, logistics, healthcare, and retail, last week Honeywell launched a range of software solutions that monitor on-site social distancing compliance, enforce customizable device cleaning procedures, and digitally trace who has handled each device.

Features as announced by Honeywell include the following:

Social distancing proximity detection

Front-line staff can adhere to social distancing guidelines as the feature tracks the proximity between Honeywell devices and alerts employees.

Check out / in and device cleaning management

Workers are notified about checking out and in devices during their shift, providing employers with data tracking devices. Employees are also alerted about when to clean primary as well as peripheral assets at work.

Remote control and remote wipe

These features enable IT teams and managers to remotely inspect and repair problems and digitally restore machines and original factory environments – in any location. IT professionals can also safely maintain social distancing protocol.

Customer counter

Employees receive real-time data of customer entrances and exits at a store.

Honeywell will offer these features through the Honeywell Operational Intelligence Asset Management Platform, and they are accessible to Tactical Intelligence clients. Honeywell app users will be able to quickly install these capabilities on their network.
Combined with unified communications tools such as Honeywell Smart Talk, these new features provide constant communication for device-enabled employees practicing social distancing, enabling tasks to be completed much faster and allowing for team collaboration.
