Paychex launches Paycheck Protection Program Loan Forgiveness Estimator and Reporting

June 12, 2020 – Paychex, Inc., a provider of HR, payroll, benefits, and insurance solutions, introduced a PPP Loan Forgiveness Estimator and Forgiveness Report in its cloud-based HR suite, Paychex Flex®, to simplify the application process for customers and provide them the accurate information needed to satisfy the new forgiveness requirements.

In accordance with the PPP Flexibility Act, these new Paychex solutions account for the extension of the timeframe to use funds from eight weeks to up to 24 weeks and an increased allowance of up to 40% of the loan to be spent on non-payroll costs such as mortgage interest, rent, and utilities.

“Our PPP Forgiveness Estimator and Forgiveness Report are great examples of a national HR outsourcing organization leveraging internal and external partnerships to deliver a very valuable tool to America’s businesses as they try to decipher extremely complicated legislation in the wake of a pandemic,” said Tom Hammond, Paychex vice president of corporate strategy and product management.

“Our ability to develop these critical capabilities in Paychex Flex® are a result of the combined partnerships that make Paychex unique in the industry – most notably our dedicated compliance and legal teams with significant access to federal, state, and local decision makers, our accountant channel engaging directly with the AICPA, and our agile product development teams,” Hammond added. “Leveraging these resources allowed us to account for the evolving provisions of the PPP Flexibility Act and ensure the tool we brought to market was accurate, reflective of the latest guidance, and ultimately made a very complex piece of legislation simpler for our customers.”
