Accelerated Strategies Group (ASG) released a survey commissioned by CloudBees exploring the struggles of enterprises delivering software efficiently and strategically. The study, titled 2020 State of Software Delivery Management ReportOpens a new window revealed that 84% of respondents found it challenging to accomplish their tasks to the best of their abilities due to the inaccessibility of information. 65% said they’re unable to quantify the cost of feature delivery delays, blocking their ability to accurately project overall lost opportunity costs.

Data engineering company Ascend.ioOpens a new window surveyed over 300 professionals to collect insights on their teams’ current workload, productivity bottlenecks, and perspectives on automation and low-code technologies. The survey revealed that 79% of respondents are taking up responsibilities that are not in their core job function, and 97% say that they are operating at max capacity or are over it. 89% are taking to automation, low-code, or no-code technologies, and 73% see it as an opportunity for career advancement.

Digital business and IT services provider NTT DATA unveiled its study “The Big Pivot: From Data Islands to Data InsightsOpens a new window ” which revealed that only 10% of organizations are using data effectively, even when 79% of organizations recognize its strategic value. The study further unveiled that 37% are effectively using data to adapt or invent a new business model, and only 31% are using data to enter new markets.

Surfshark Delivers Digital Quality of Life (DQL) Index

Privacy protection company SurfsharkOpens a new window conducted a survey measuring internet quality, affordability, e-security, online government services, and e-infrastructure. The report highlighted that the pandemic had a significant impact on the internet stability. 49 of 85 countries experienced drops in mobile and 44 in broadband speed due to the WFH trend. It also found that e-security, e-infrastructure, and e-government have a more significant correlation with digital quality of life than GDP per capita.

Dom Dimas, Head of the DQL research at Surfshark, in conversation with Toolbox shared, “The impact of COVID-19 on the internet infrastructure has once again shown digital wellbeing is becoming increasingly important. However, despite its rising significance, there is no proper way to measure any country’s overall digital performance. The Digital Quality of Life (DQL) research aims to start a conversation about the state of our digital lives. The study provides insight into the overall digital quality of life across 85 countries based on five fundamental pillars (internet affordability & quality, e-government, e-security, and e-infrastructure).”

57% of Organizations Challenged by Disconnected Data: Vena Report

Vena Solutions surveyed 350 business leaders and finance and operations professionals on how their organizations are facing the challenge of today’s unprecedented change. The results were published in the Vena Industry Benchmark ReportOpens a new window . The report showed that only 44% of respondents have an early warning system to receive operational and financial reviews. 57% are dealing with disparate and disconnected data sources as their primary challenge.
