Moz announces new Google Data Studio Community Connectors to help marketers build custom dashboards

Moz, the search engine tool, today launched six new releases of Google Data Studio Community Connectors for Moz’s product, STAT, that offers enterprise-level rank tracking and search engine result page (SERP) analytics for brands and digital agencies. These connectors will allow customers to send their STAT data to Google Data Studio to design and build custom dashboards.

Speaking to Toolbox Marketing, Rob Ousbey, VP Product at Moz, said “SEOs often work with multiple tools, datasets and metrics, making reporting time-consuming and collaboration difficult. Google Data Studio offers unparalleled reporting capabilities that visually express complicated metrics more simply. As marketers prove their value in new ways, we believe the updates to our reporting and research tools will help keep organizations more knowledgeable about their own business and customers.”

What Does This Mean for Marketers?

At a time when 70 percent of marketers have reported budget cuts as a result of the pandemic, Moz’s innovative approach toward reporting empowers marketers to get creative with data visualization. Moz’s new connectors address a critical gap in current reporting capabilities offered by other SEO tools. These connectors pull historical data on critical metrics like keywords rankings, share of voice, and ranking distributions. Marketers can now use these insights to understand which keywords are increasing visibility, engagement, and overall mindshare.

Additionally, with marketing budgets coming under greater scrutiny, it is becoming crucial for marketers to establish a clear relationship between SEO and RoI. Moz’s new connectors expedite the reporting process while making insights simpler through powerful visualization and building on a strong foundation of data-rich information available in the STAT product. Moz’s STAT data complements other data sources such as Google Analytics, Adwords, and Google Docs that natively integrate into Google Data Studio.

Today’s announcement from Moz comes on the heels of its newly released API for Google Sheets. The Google Sheet add-on allows users to gather MOZ URL metrics without using a code and provides a few extra functions to help manipulate data. In the past, if marketers wanted link metrics for several URLs at once, they either needed to enter them manually at a time or seek technical expertise to use the LinkScape API.

SEO solution providers like Moz are concentrating their efforts to simplify marketing interfaces for both users and organizational influencers. This is in response to the changing B2B technology landscape, where brands and leaders are becoming increasingly conscious of their technology investment vs RoI link. With this release, Moz joins a growing list of Martech vendors providing sophisticated reporting and analytics capabilities in the wake of the pandemic-induced economic slowdown.
