E2openOpens a new window is partnering with ON SemiconductorOpens a new window on an ERP modernization initiative to improve inventory tracking visibility, accuracy and speed of reporting. The venture aims to improve customer service as well as the operational efficiency of ON Semiconductor’s internal and external manufacturing network.

“ON Semiconductor is on a mission to build best-in-class supply chain systems and processes,” says Michael Farlekas, president and CEO of the Austin, Texas-based E2open. “Speed and accuracy are mission-critical in today’s business environment, especially when it comes to manufacturing and production.”

E2open’s end-to-end supply chain platform includes intelligent applications that support manufacturing visibility, which in turn help engineers and technicians monitor the status of each product in real time as it works its way through the manufacturing process. The applications combine to improve lot tracking, genealogy and component tracking. They also aim at helping improve logistics around products, tracking them as they move through a company’s complex manufacturing and test processes.

E2open supports the dynamic construction of multilevel Lot/SN Genealogy and Lot/SN Material usage histories from all supply chain sources. This facility helps organizations manage both risk and cost.

Lot/SN specific trackingOpens a new window covers the tracking data and verification of outbound and inbound entries (sales and purchases) and ensures that they are the same. In that way, it functions as a fixed application within inventory management.

ON Semicoductor is a Fortune 500 semiconductor company based in Phoenix. Its products help engineers solve key design issues across a broad range of industries, including the automotive, communications, computing, medical and defense sectors. ON supports a global supply chain that connects a network of manufacturing facilities, sales offices and design centers.

“We see great value in using the E2open solution in support of our complex manufacturing processes, adding improved functionality, including real time reporting and analysis,” says Brent Wilson, a senior vice president for ON Semiconductor.

As ON Semiconductor continues the modernization of its supply chains, it says it will retain E2open as a key partner in building inventory data infrastructure and information streams.

Key takeaways:

  • E2open is partnering with the international semiconductor manufacturer ON Semiconductor in the overall modernization of its global distribution and monitoring network.
  • The object of the project is to improve manufacturing and inventory management systems for ON’s international operations, helping it to keep track of a complex manufacturing process.
  • E2open has an end-to-end supply chain management platform that can enhance a company’s visibility of its supply chain.
