Logitech makes it easier for users to join meetings from any laptop with Swytch; Avaya presents  a new business avatar to align with its cloud-vision and TTEC takes over VoiceFoundry ownership.

Now Bring Your Own Meeting (BYOM) With Logitech’s Swytch, a USB Connector

Logitech launched a connector called Swytch to enable seamless transition between multiple meeting rooms. Logitech Swytch enables switching meeting room controls such as those of the audio and video, as well as the ability to display meeting room feed directly to a connected laptop.

What this basically means is that users can join in on meetings/conferences directly, regardless of which meeting room solution is used. Scott Wharton, Vice President and General Manager of Logitech Video Collaboration said, “Most room solutions are great and have made strides in becoming easier to use, but it’s often difficult to join meetings with any video service you want.”

Besides meeting solutions like Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms, Swytch also enables users to participate in meetings via a laptop, with any webinar or streaming software. Another important aspect of the cable laptop link is that it facilitates plug-and-play connections. Logitech said it can be useful especially for those who are transitioning from legacy services to modern platforms.

Logitech Swytch combines USB and HDMI to eliminate the need for additional adapters etc. The solution can charge USB-C based laptops with 60W of power. Swytch is compatible with USB 3.0 or higher with Type A or Type C and DisplayLink drivers. It also supports Windows 10, MacBook, and Chromebook. It enables Bring Your Own Meeting (BYOM) for Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms to connect a laptop to the room’s display, camera and audio devices for meetings hosted on other services. Is compatible with Logitech Sync which can simplify monitoring and device management.

Wharton adds, “With Swytch, we’re taking it a step beyond ‘making every room a meeting room’ and enabling a native experience in conference rooms that anyone can use and enjoy.”
