Could the Metaverse become your default boardroom a few years from now?

Research by Boardable found that the traditional boardroom’s C-suite executives are now more geographically dispersed than ever before. Such being the case, could the Metaverse serve as a platform for board members to meet virtually, no matter where they are located?

In a detailed look at the Metaverse’s utility as the boardroom of the future, we gauged insights from leading Metaverse experts to understand whether the Metaverse, which is attracting tens of millions of dollars in investments from Big Tech giants, has the tools and features to meet the needs of C-Suite executives in the coming years.

Top ways to to retain your talent and address the growing technical skills gap

In an insightful article for Spiceworks News & Insights, Becky Trevino, the VP Of Marketing at Snow Software, discusses how organizations can tackle the growing technical skills gap and strategically uplevel employees to fill staffing gaps. She recommends putting in place a people-first mindset and why employers must empower all levels of IT staff with the freedom and encouragement to make changes to longstanding practices that no longer serve the current state of the workforce.

In her article, Becky says that many organizations are unable to achieve digital transformation as, given the organization’s lack of training and resources, many IT employees are inadequately trained to keep up with the rapid pace of innovation, thus producing inadequate deliverables. This has created a cycle of skills gaps, burnout, attrition, and ultimately hurting the organization’s bottom line.

By 2030, the U.S. could miss out on $1.748 trillion in revenue due to labor shortages — about 6 percent of the entire U.S. economy — driven by a shortage of skills, not people. To address this, she says, organizations need to invest in upskilling employees to prepare them for specialized roles. They should also prioritize upskilling and reskilling opportunities for existing employees and recruit and retain with a people-first mindset.

Ransomware recovery, and not just defense, will ensure business continuity

Similarly, all organizations should have robust ransomware recovery strategies in place to bounce back quickly, says Yuen Pin Yeap, the CEO And co-founder of NeuShield, in an article where he details different kinds of recovery strategies organizations can adopt and the ideal approach every organization should take.

In his Spiceworks News & Insights article, Yuen talks about the constant battle between business defenders and nefarious hackers, where the defender’s cybersecurity must be as agile as today’s workforce. It should ensure continuous and consistent protection and an optimal user experience, regardless of where infrastructure, users and devices are located.
