Linda Chapin Named CHRO at UL Inc.

UL Inc., on June 1, 2020, announced the appointment of Linda Chapin as senior vice president and chief human resources officer.

The company announced that she is its first CHRO to be responsible for a holistic employee experience strategy. Keeping in mind the company’s mission of creating a safer world, she will lead and develop the company’s HR strategy and operations across 40+ countries and place focus on training and development and environmental health and safety.

Chapin has served at Johnson Controls, Logica, and Hewlett Packard, and provided consulting services to a host of companies. She completed her graduation from Southern Illinois University and executive leadership training programs at Northwestern University and Southern Methodist University.

Rukmini Banerjee joins Fetch Rewards as chief people officer

Fetch Rewards announced the hire of Rukmini Banerjee as chief people officer on June 1, 2020. She will be in charge of the creation and oversight of talent development efforts along with establishing training programs, design career pathing models, and recruiting new talent.

Before Fetch Rewards, Banerjee served at CUNA Mutual and HSBC and also spent four years at GE in Australia as customer support leader.

Rukmini Banerjee earned her MBA from XLRI and her B.Sc. in Mathematics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

Jason Hernandez joins Centerstone as CHRO

On June 2, 2020, Centerstone, a Nashville-based nonprofit health organization announced the appointment of Jason Hernandez as its new chief human resources officer, who was previously the VP of HR for FedEx Freight. Before FedEx, he also worked at Thomson West, The Data Center, and Greenleaf Technologies Inc.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in social science and biology from Chapman University, and an MBA from Union University and is pursuing a Ph.D. in education from Vanderbilt University at present.

Rainia L. Washington appointed as CHRO at FINRA

FINRA, on June 5, 2020, named Rainia L. Washington as executive vice president and chief human resources officer. As a part of her role, she will lead FINRA’s People Solutions team, oversee talent recruitment, training and development, diversity and inclusion, compensation and benefits, and employee relations. She will also be a member of FINRA’s Management Committee and will start on June 15.

Washington switches to FINRA from Lockheed Martin, where she served in a variety of increasingly important roles within human resources for 26 years.

She received her B.Sc. in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and her MBA from Penn State University.

Joel Fastenberg promoted to HR head at Citi

Citi, on June 5, 2020, announced the promotion of Joel Fastenberg as the HR head for Singapore and the ASEAN region. Fastenberg will oversee the overall HR strategy for Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Fastenberg joined Citi in 2011 and has HR experience of more than 20 years across the financial services industry in New York and Tokyo.
