- AI Fairness 360 from IBM, now with increased functionality
IBM launched AI Fairness 360 in 2018Opens a new window , as an open-source toolkit with over 70 fairness metrics and 11 state-of-the-art bias mitigation algorithms to help examine, report, and mitigate discrimination and bias in machine learning models throughout the AI application lifecycle. The company has now added more functionality to offer enhanced accessibility to developers, being compatible with scikit-learn and R.
Willie Tejada, GM and Chief Developer Advocate, IBM Cloud and Cognitive Software, told Toolbox, “We’re currently in a time where almost every industry is relying on AI to drive progress in one way or another. For AI to be more broadly adopted, trust and transparency is essential. IBM is proud to be an industry leader in advancing what we call Trusted AIOpens a new window , which is built, evaluated, and monitored for trust. Our open-source AI Fairness 360 toolkit, a critical way to build and drive trust in AI, is now becoming even more accessible for a wider range of developers and with increased functionality.â€
The new functionality enables developers to shift and swap algorithms between AIF360 and scikit-learn, which was not possible earlier. It has implemented three bias mitigation algorithms that follow the scikit-learn API for easy interchangeability in many existing pipelines.
R users can now check and mitigate for bias with the AIF360 toolkit using the R syntax they are familiar with. They can easily utilize AIF360’s python library for the creation of virtual or Conda environments.
The company has invited developers to contribute to the further enhancement of the functionality as there are still algorithms and metrics that need to be made compatible.

- Adaptiva Introduces OneSite Cloud
After the launch of OneSite VMware edition for speeding up content deliveryOpens a new window a few months ago, Adaptiva has now launched OneSite CloudOpens a new window to enable secure Internet P2P Content Delivery. The new version enables users to receive quick updates of software and other content updates, independent of the location, without devastating the corporate VPN and WAN/SD-WAN links or compromising network performance.

- BigID enhances data intelligence platform with a new application development framework
BigID, the provider for data discovery and intelligence for privacy, protection, and perspective unveiled its first application development framework that is compatible with any data intelligence platform. It delivers more value to customers and users in terms of data by building a custom application on BigID’s data discovery platform.
– The new framework enables customers and partners alike to add functionality to BigID and take action on discovered data for new use cases in data privacy, security, and governance. The basic features of the framework are:
– Supports Java, Javascript, Node.js or Python for development
– Delivers API hooks for classification, cataloging, correlation, cluster analysis, scan management, reporting, workflow, alerting and more
– Users can deploy UI integration for Angular or react
– Ensures secure deployment in BigID’s microservice implementation
– Developers can access portal for code samples, test apps, and support

IT and enterprise service management solutions provider SysAid, unveiled the Worksafe AppOpens a new window for employees joining onsite offices when the pandemic lockdowns lift. The application helps organizations and employees to abide strictly by the health and social distancing compliances, making the work environment safer.
Employees can self-report their location and health status daily through the application and also alert the management at any potential exposure at work. In addition to meeting compliance guidelines, the application also prevents security risks by automatically locking accounts of employees who forget to self-report or who present symptoms while at the workplace.
Employees can easily self-report their health status online. Using their smartphone or computer, employees enter information about their location, symptoms. The application then uses this data for reporting and analysis.
