Transcend raises $25 million in Series A round of investment to streamline user interaction with their data under modern data privacy regulations.

As stricter privacy regulations encircle the globe and greater privacy incidents loom, it appears it has only begun.”

David Raab, Founder of CDP Institute wrote in a privacy white paperOpens a new window , “As repeated data breaches and scandals have brought new attention to data collection, growing public awareness has changed personal behavior and prompted regulatory action such as the European Union’s GDPR and CCPA. And these regulations will undoubtedly drive nationwide attention as more legal action is taken to enforce them. The era of privacy legislation is only just beginning”.

Transcend, founded in 2017 set out to “enable every product, sales, and marketing team to adopt privacy without slowing them down”. The startup seems to be on the right track with a fresh Series A investment, fuelled by an increased appetite for privacy-focused companies in these turbulent times.

California-headquartered startup secured $25 million in their effort to create more acceptable avenues to exercise control over personal data. Transcend’s Series A round of investment was led by Index Ventures, and Accel which also funded their seed investment. Participants in the round include South Park Commons, Phil Venables (Goldman Sachs Board Member and former CISO), and Dylan Field (Figma CEO).

Transcend’s new data privacy infrastructure is an effort by the company to facilitate automated and seamless access to data through database and application integrations, regardless of where it is governedOpens a new window or stored, i.e., databases, SaaS tools, warehouses, vendors et al., while ensuring adherence to set data compliances and regulations.
