Accenture to Acquire SALT Solutions

Tech company, AccentureOpens a new window , has agreed to acquire SALT Solutions AG, a technology consultancy company that implements IT systems for better logistics. The acquisition will enable Accenture to build cloud-based industrial internet of things (IoT) platforms that speed up and optimize clients’ production and logistics and allow them to reduce quality and waste issues along the entire supply chain.

Lineage Logistics Bags $1.6B Funding 

Logistics solutions provider, Lineage LogisticsOpens a new window , announced that the company has raised $1.6 billion in equity from new and existing partners. The company plans to leverage these funds for new acquisitions and organic expansion across the world. One of the investors, Oxford Properties Group’s president Michael Turner, will be joining the company’s board.

Maersk and Canadian Pacific Railway Join Hands

Container logistics company, A.P. Moller – MaerskOpens a new window , and Canadian Pacific (CP) Railway have agreed to build and operate a transload and distribution facility in Vancouver. The new facility will deliver a broader range of supply chain options to the customers of both the companies. Customers will be able to access a multi-commodity transload facility. They will operate on railways instead of trucks, which will also help the companies to establish a sustainable supply chain that will help fight climate change.

GlobalTranz Names Bob Farrell as CEO

Farrell comes with 30 years of experience as an executive in technology companies. GlobalTranz is a full-service third-party logistics provider that delivers industrial expertise and technology to shippers, carriers, and logistics services.

Forward Air To Acquire CLW Delivery

Surface transportation company, Forward AirOpens a new window , announced that they have entered into an agreement to acquire the assets of CLW Delivery, a final mile provider. The acquisition of CLW expands the company’s footprints in the Final Mile business into an additional 14 markets. With this acquisition, along with FSA Logistix and Linn Star Transfer in 2019, Forward Final Mile has experienced a period of hypergrowth, expanding from 8 operating locations into 110 in under two years.  

Shipper TMS Becomes an Accel-KKR Company

Accel-KKR, a technology-focused investment firm, has acquired the Shipper TMS portion of the Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) software business portfolio owned by Wabtec Corporation. Shipper TMS delivers cloud-based multi-modal shipment management applications across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
