New York: FyberOpens a new window (FSE: FBEN), a technology company developing solutions for smarter app monetization, continues its mission to create a programmatic environment that benefits the entire ecosystem under the leadership of its new Chief Revenue Officer, David Simon.

Simon’s deep expertise and years of experience in ad tech, including having worked on several of the earliest programmatic trading desks, will encourage buy-side initiatives that streamline the buying process, allowing Fyber’s demand partners to confidently buy quality supply in a completely transparent way. Additionally, Simon’s experience in tackling safety and fraud issues within web, which itself has grappled with a lack of clarity of their revenue value chain, reinforces Fyber’s commitment to bring that same level of transparency to the app environment. Fyber’s initiatives include:

  • App-ads.txt. As of November 2019, 79% of Fyber’s inventory is app-ads.txt supported.
  • Sellers.json. Fyber has posted a publicly available JSON file on Fyber’s website exposing its complete list of publishers and relationship to them. 100% of Fyber’s inventory is listed.
  • SupplyChain Object.Fyber is always the first node (i.e., vendor) on the supply chain and has the most direct relationship with the publisher. With Fyber, DSPs can always and easily trace the complete payment chain back to the publisher.
  • WhiteOps integration. Fyber is the only company that has integrated a traditional desktop solution for detecting bot or not-bot traffic for its offer wall ad unitto exclude fraudulent users and suspicious networks.

“The growth opportunity in this industry is truly limitless, but we must remain vigilant against fraud. Brands are awakening to the potential for capturing high-value consumer attention in apps, while also needing assurances on transparency, support and measurement,” said David Simon, “I am very excited to work with Fyber in leading this charge – the best-positioned company in the market globally to be able to share data in a completely direct and honest way.”

With experience stretching from large organization management and high-growth startup expertise to board experience, true strategic vision and a track record of successful implementations and company exits, Dave is perfectly positioned to lead Fyber’s revenue channels, and to guide the company through the transformation required to capitalize on new technologies and changes in the media supply chain.

Prior to joining Fyber, Simon was a partner at Jounce Media, an industry-leading research and consulting firm focused on ad tech and programmatic, where he focused on developing a blueprint for the programmatic transformation of media companies and marketing organizations. Dave has also held leadership roles at Verizon Media and AOL, where he led the Video Syndication business unit, delivering 50% growth YoY for three consecutive years, and scaled the operation to EMEA and APAC by signing deals with major broadcasters and media companies in those markets.
