Nextiva Goes Big on UCaaS Channel Partnerships

Nextiva launched its new multi-tiered channel partner program NeXus and also bulked up its management team with key hires to head its largest channel investment.

New Channel Partner Program

Cloud unified communications vendor Nextiva has launched its first channel program to help its partners further expand into the UCaaS market. Called NeXus, the partner program will focus on assisting channel partners to grow the cloud communications delivery sphere.

UCaaS is estimated to reach USD 36.45 billionOpens a new window by 2026 and a high degree of push is coming from the SMB segment. Nextiva’s NeXus is intended to create new avenues for nearly 4500 of its channel partners and help them capitalize on the momentum. A spokesperson for the company said, “These investments reflect Nextiva’s excellent experience in the channel, and a doubling-down on their commitment to enabling partners to achieve greater sales and customer satisfaction results.” NeXus is Nextiva’s largest channel investment.

Under the new program, partners will be tiered as Authorized, Gold Certified, and Platinum Premier partners, each with a varied level of access to the following: 

Free Marketing Automation: Available to Nextiva premium partners, marketing automation tool CoNEXtion for pre-and-post-sales.

Gamified Training: Partners receive training and earn certifications through gamification to ‘enhance effectiveness’ in creating and delivering services.

Incentives, Incentives, Incentives: Includes incentive programs, promotions, sales performance incentive funds (SPIFs), and an innovative investment-matching marketing development fund (MDF) program.

Platinum Premier Benefits: Partners who have attained Nextiva’s Platinum Premier status can access additional benefits like dedicated field-based channel managers, free access to CoNEXtion, special Platinum-only promotions, and increased MDF.

The requirement for each level of partnership varies in accordance with the level. For Gold, partners will need to rake in $1000 as annual monthly recurring revenue along with having two Nextiva-certified employees. For Platinum Premier partners, the requirement for annual monthly recurring revenue shoots up to $10,000 or more.

Expansion of Channel Leadership Team

The launch of NeXus coincides with the appointment of former General Manager for U.S. partner sales for Microsoft Eric MartoranoOpens a new window . Martorano will head the new channel initiative as the Chief Revenue Officer. The newly-minted CRO said, “To continue the growth trajectory, Nextiva is making its most significant channel investments to date with the launch of our new partner program NeXus, the addition of three top industry executives to our channel leadership team, as well as new channel resources.”

Martorano is bringing in Eric RoachOpens a new window as the VP of Channel Development. Roach formerly worked as a Microsoft sales leader and channel executive at Accordo Group and Intermedia as Martorano’s colleague. Roach said, “If my 20+ years of experience has taught me anything, it’s that a healthy, profitable channel ecosystem is not just important, it is a critical lifeline to sustainable sales growth and a successful go-to-market strategy. The investment that Nextiva is making in the channel is the next step to building upon and accelerating what the company has already been so successful in creating.”

The position of Nextiva’s VP of Revenue Strategy and Operations is being filled by Hank HumphreysOpens a new window , formerly Global Channel Chief at Dropbox and channel leader at Google; while Cathryn ValladaresOpens a new window has been promoted to VP of Enterprise Solutions.
